Picture To Text Converter

Picture To Text is a web-based OCR (optical character recognition) converter that pulls editable text out of images. Users upload, paste or drag in a photo, screenshot, scanned page or handwritten note and copy or download the extracted text. The site lists support for JPG, PNG, BMP, TIFF and other formats, recognition for English, Spanish, French, Russian and 20 more languages, and sibling tools for JPG to Word, PDF to text, PDF to Word, image to PDF, grayscale and inverted images and reverse image search.

The converter suits students, office workers and anyone who needs to copy text from a picture without retyping it. OCR accuracy depends on image quality and handwriting, so extracted text should be proofread. Nothing was tested for this listing.

The basic converter is free to use. Premium plans on the pricing page remove ads and raise limits: Weekly at $2.99 for 3K images per week, Monthly shown reduced from $8.99 to $4.99 for 10K images per month, and Yearly shown reduced from $39.99 to $24.99 for 120K images per year, each with uploads of 50 images at once and files up to 10MB. A banner advertises a limited-time 40% discount, there is no free trial, and refunds follow a separate refund policy. The terms identify the company only as Picture to text, based in New York.
