Blue – ChatGPT for Mac

Blue is a Mac application from Monter AB that brings an AI conversation interface into other desktop work. The site describes opening it with Option and Space and using AppVision to supply context from the active application. AppVision is described as using macOS accessibility technology and can be switched off. This makes the scope of shared context a central adoption question: check which application is active, what information it contains and whether that material is permitted to be sent for model processing. The provider says conversation history and files are stored on the Mac, but it also says active-app context is sent when a question is asked. Local storage therefore should not be interpreted as wholly offline processing. The provider's privacy and regional-processing statements are product claims, not an independent security assessment. Its own comparison table distinguishes Starter from Professional for EU-only processing, so the two plans should not be treated as equivalent. The public download page offers version 1.0.15 for macOS 12.6 Monterey or later; this review did not download or install it. The website names GPT-4o and GPT-3.5, but those labels do not establish which models a current installation can successfully access. A separate bring-your-own-key offer also requires checking the model provider's usage costs. Verify present compatibility, billing period, permissions and available models before adopting Blue for work.
