Botecko is a browser-based chat client whose contacts are bot characters. Its public introduction identifies it as a client for OpenAI and Google Gemini APIs and says the user needs a provider key. It should be evaluated as a personal character-chat interface, rather than the enterprise customer-service system described in the older directory entry. The advertised workflow is to define a character from a short description, give it a profile and avatar, and converse with it individually or in a group containing different characters. Contrasting generated opinions may be useful for exploring a fictional scene or considering alternative perspectives, but they are not independent human testimony or fact checking. The application says conversations are stored in the browser and model requests go to the selected provider. Local conversation storage therefore does not make the service offline or remove the provider's processing and billing conditions. The visible settings distinguish profile generation, chat responses and avatar generation, so provider compatibility should be checked for each operation. They also expose a user-context field and an option related to showing the bot's planning text. Generated planning text should not be treated as a verified explanation of a model's internal reasoning. The HTTPS page and public settings were inspected without entering, reading or saving API-key values, creating contacts or sending a model request. This review did not verify current model execution, software licensing or conversation recovery after browser data is cleared.
