Ebby

Ebby is an online automated transcription service for audio and video. It pairs speech recognition with an editor for checking the result, then lets users export, download or share transcripts and create subtitles. It fits interviews, podcasts and caption preparation where a person can review the text against the recording. The public registration page showed email and social-account options; no account, recording or transcription was submitted during this review.

Budget against recording duration rather than processing time. The price page displays a standard rate of $0.25 per audio minute, with volume discounts, and a PRO annual licence costing $30 plus $0.10 per minute. The licence does not automatically renew. Both options use prepaid transcription credit that the supplier says does not expire; PRO's reduced rate lasts one year. The currency code, applicable tax and final checkout amount were not independently confirmed. Terms also mention a minimum charge per transcription without quantifying it in the reviewed price page.

The trial consists of two previews covering the first two minutes of a file. That is different from free complete transcription. The published refund FAQ says cash refunds are not offered and describes credit as a possible remedy for unresolved problems; check the current policy before buying.

Recording quality affects recognition, so names, quotations and speaker details still need correction. Terms retain your input ownership and condition transcript rights on payment, but permit external speech-processing providers to receive audio and potentially retain copies. The older privacy policy describes backups without a precise retention schedule. Its security statements were not audited. Obtain permission for recorded voices and avoid assuming that confidential material remains exclusively on Ebby's own systems.
