Khoj

Khoj is an open-source personal AI assistant from Khoj Inc. that can search documents, answer questions and run agent workflows using local or online language models. Its repository describes support for document formats including PDF, Markdown and Word, semantic search, custom agents and scheduled research. The project remains available for self-hosting, meaning users install and operate the service on their own computer or server.

Khoj Cloud, the vendor-hosted subscription service, was shut down on April 15, 2026 according to its official service notice. Local processing depends on configuration; review model connections, telemetry and access controls before adding confidential files.
