QuestionAid

QuestionAid is a web app from Hecht + Marciniak GbR in Kiel, Germany, that creates assessment items from text. Users paste source material and the tool generates questions, can add plausible wrong answers known as distractors to existing questions, and exports the results to learning and quiz platforms such as Moodle and Kahoot.

The tool suits teachers, trainers and course creators who need question banks from their own material. Generated questions and distractors should be reviewed for accuracy and difficulty before use in graded tests. Nothing was tested for this listing.

Pricing is based on one-time credit packs rather than a subscription, with prices shown excluding VAT. The Small pack of 10 credits costs EUR 10.99, reduced from EUR 14.99, and is described as equal to 200 questions or 2,000 distractors; the Mid pack of 50 credits costs EUR 39.90, reduced from EUR 49.90; and the Large pack of 100 credits costs EUR 74.90, reduced from EUR 89.00. Quotes and payment by invoice are available on request. The terms of service, last updated in February 2023, still describe subscription billing and free trials, which does not match the homepage statement that there is no subscription.
