Speechify is a text-to-speech app that reads documents, PDFs, web pages, emails and books aloud. It runs as a web app, Chrome and Edge extensions and apps for iPhone and iPad, Android, Mac and Windows. Text is highlighted as it is read, playback speed can be adjusted, and Scan & Listen reads printed pages from a photo. Premium adds a large library of natural voices in many languages, AI summaries and chat about what is being read, AI-generated podcasts from documents, voice typing for dictating text in any app, and a voice AI assistant. Integrations with Google Drive, Dropbox and Microsoft OneDrive bring in files from cloud storage.

Speechify is widely used by students, people with dyslexia or visual fatigue, and professionals who prefer listening to reading. AI summaries can omit details, so important material should still be checked in the original text. Nothing was tested for this listing.
